Deploy and Manage Citrix ADC with Traffic Management 1Y0-241 Practice Exam

Session length

A Citrix Administrator configured compression on web servers and removed the Accept Encoding header from client requests, but data are not being compressed by the Citrix ADC. What could be the cause?

The rewrite policy is bound at an incorrect bind point

The servers are automatically compressing all responses

Compression on Citrix ADC only takes place when the response isn’t already compressed and the client indicates support (via Accept-Encoding). If the backend servers are configured to automatically compress all responses, they send pre-compressed data to the ADC. Since the content is already compressed, the ADC won’t re-compress it to avoid double compression. That’s why you don’t see compression happening on the ADC side, even though server-side compression is enabled. Removing the Accept-Encoding header from clients also prevents ADC compression, but the primary cause here is that the origin servers are handling compression up front.

The compression policy needs to be reconfigured

Servercmp is disabled on the Citrix ADC
